COVID-19 Relief Funds for Farmers

— Written By

The closure of restaurants, farmers markets, and agritourism due to coronavirus are impacting farms across North Carolina. Direct-to-market farmers and vineyards that rely on these revenue streams are the most hard hit. But farmers are nothing if not resilient and innovative. Extension is teaching farmers on how to transition to online sales, and use virtual ways to reach consumers.

Relief funds are now being offered by these organizations to buffer economic losses and keep farms in business during COVID-19:

American Farmland Trust has set up a Farmer Relief Fund.

Carolina Farm Stewardship Association has COVID-19 Relief Funds Available to Farmers Starting April 3. Find out more.

RAFI-USA will be issuing emergency mini-grants to North Carolina farmers impacted by COVID-19. Find out more.
