Join N.C. Cooperative Extension of Wilkes & Yadkin Counties for a hands-on, tree fruit pruning class with Dr. Mike Parker, NC State University Tree Fruit Horticultural Specialist. Dr. Parker will demonstrate the pruning of standard or semi-dwarf apple trees, dwarf/high-density apples, and peaches.
The class is free and open to the public and will be suitable for commercial tree fruit growers as well as interested home gardeners.
Date: March 4, 2021
Time: 1–4 p.m.
This class will take place at two orchards in the Brushy Mountains of Wilkes County. Directions will be emailed to those who register for the class prior to the event.
All participants must register in advance, to facilitate observance of state-mandated gathering limits. Those who attend the Brushy Mountain Tree Fruit Meeting on the morning of March 4 must register for this event separately if they wish to participate.
Please note, the class will be held outdoors, and COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed. Participants will be expected to wear a face covering and maintain physical distance from others for the duration of the class.
