Created by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the Visit NC Farms app is designed to connect consumers with local farms and food businesses. From pick-your-own operations and farm stands to farm stays and events, there are all kinds of things to explore on the app. We are thrilled to have several Alamance County farms already listed. Our participation in the app is made possible by sponsorship from Alamance County Farm Bureau. Thank you, Farm Bureau friends!Visit NC Farms app homescreen

You can download the app for free on your smartphone from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. When you open the app, make sure to turn on notifications so you see updates from farms close by! You can set notifications by distance, region, and/or category. Find this screen and change your notification settings at any time by clicking the bell icon at the bottom of the home screen.

From the home screen, select a category (Farms + Fisheries, Pick Your Own, etc.) to see what’s close by. You can view the results in a list or as a map. Map view in the Visit NC Farms app

With the search tool, you can look for specific products and services offered (such as event venues). If you aren’t sure what to search for, scroll through the suggested categories for inspiration! Search page in the Visit NC Farms app

We have over a dozen Alamance County farms already listed in the app. If you’re interested in having your farm listed, you can let us know right from the app itself. Go to the feedback page (the “i” button in the bottom left-hand corner of the home screen) and click Get my Farm Listed. You will be able to send us a message and then one of us at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Alamance County Center will reach out to you with the next step in the process!
