The Egg-cellent Egg Contest is a fun competition for youth with a flock of chickens that are currently laying eggs. As part of the program, youth will submit up to 2 sets of 6 (half dozen) eggs in different categories, which will be judged for uniformity, exterior and interior quality. Participants will also complete supplemental project components based on their age which is part of their final score.
The contest is $15 and is open to youth who have a flock of laying hens currently laying. Youth will be able to register using the link below and will have to send a check or money order to the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Hoke County Center (all of this is noted in the registration form).
